Hounds operate a strict Appointment Policy, we will not book more than two dogs for a grooming appointment at any one time unless those dogs come from the same home. We do not use cages or restrain your pets during their time with us, your pets are cared for individually by specifically trained staff in segregated areas of the salon. Customers can help us keep a stress free environment for your pets by collecting their pets promptly. A charge will be applied for any late pick up's, these charges are stipulated in our Appointment Policy. Our experienced groomers are trained to look for any health related issue concerning your pet, advice will be offered for an appropriate course of action. If you require any help or advice please call the Salon on 01253 769749, alternatively you can e-mail your concerns. All enquiries will be dealt with politely, efficiently and in the strictest confidence. | Our Full Grooming Service Consists Of: |
Bath | A conditioning bath with clean warm running water and invigorating fresh water rinse to remove any residue which may irritate the skin. We use JDS flea and tick shampoo and branded Mild Camomile Dog Shampoo for dogs with sensitive skin. |
Blow Dry | We soak up excess water with with a chamois then towel dry to separate the coat. We then blow dry the coat with specifically designed professional dryers. If your dog looses lots of hair then we will blast the under coat from his/her skin. This under coat can make your dogs skin sore and unnecessarily over heat him/her because air cannot circulate his skin. This process needs to be done every 12 weeks or so. If you have a dog that loses hair a lot then book him/her in to get a bath and blast. Look here to see the benefits of blasting. |
Cut | Your dog will be thoroughly dried and brushed before being moved to the grooming table. Breed specific styling or a cut to your personal requirments. All your dogs information from your initial consultation such as style of cut, what shampoo we should use, your dogs temperament, whether or not we express the anal glands will be kept on a Client Information Card which will be filed for future use. We track all your appointments so we can specifically tailor our services to your exact requirements. |
Nails | All nails are shortened and a general check of pads and feet, this will ensure your dogs feet remain in great shape. |
| Extra Services Available | | | Ears | Ears are hygienically cleaned and hair is removed from the ear canal in applicable breeds such as poodles. Please read our fact sheet on Foxtails and Poisons to Dogs. |
Anal Glands | |
| In-Between Service (Available to customers with regular appointments free of charge) | | | Eyes | For breeds that need the hair from their eyes clearing, this hair grows rapidly in-between grooms. |
All prices are specific to individual pets and take into consideration size, breed and coat. Please call the salon for grooming prices on 01253 769 749 or fill in the contact form and we will call you. |
