Canine parvovirus type 2 (CPV-2) is a highly contagious and serious disease caused by a virus that attacks the gastrointestinal tract of puppies, dogs, and wild canids (e.g. foxes, wolves, coyotes). It was first identified in 1978 and is seen worldwide. It also can damage the heart muscle in very young and unborn puppies.

Yes summer has arrived all-be-it off and on, but even though the rain is coming down temperatures are high some say higher than ever. It is time to act, even though it may be once a year your dog will greatly benefit from a blast. Dogs generally shed hair during the warmer months having said that in our experience they shed more often due to our modern environment.

Each year the RSPCA receives around 6,000 calls from members of the public concerned about an animal left in a car on the street, in a supermarket car park or at a public event.
